It has been said that the Government of Mexico is corrupt. That powerful people control the Government because they give “propinas” or money to the politicians - Unlike the US where people give “contributions” to their campaigns. In Mexico there is said to be elite groups of people who have power because they give money to the Government. In the US large organizations create 501s to “contribute” money without having to pay tax on those “contributions.” It is said Mexico is corrupt because they let criminals run the street and the police do nothing to enforce laws. Unlike the US where it is not the job of the police to enforce federal laws.
