12 county delegates will be selected on Jan 5th, 2008, 16 more will be selected at a statewide convention on May 30. I would infer from past elections they will select a conservative candidate.
On Jan 14th, 2008, Iowa with caucus for both the Democratic Party and Republican Party nominations. Iowa polls favor Clinton in state polls (Clinton seems favored in all the early primary state polls) for the Democratic nomination — But, for the Republican nomination Iowa favors, according to recent polls, Romney with Thompson and Giuliani being fairly even for 2nd place.
Prior to Super Tuesday (2-5-08) 9 states are planning to select delegates for the GOP nomination; Wyoming, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Florida and Maine. — polls suggest Giuliani may only win two or three of these states. All said and done, it looks like Giuliani will not have momentum on Super Tuesday. Keep in mind the polls for “undecided” are still very high — who people say they will vote for this early should instead be who they are thinking about voting for.
